India-Myanmar Solar Energy Workshop

An India-Myanmar Solar Energy Workshop was organized on 17 March 2015 at Yangon under the aegis of Embassy of India, Yangon. Indian Renewable Energy Federation (IREF) along with Global Protek Singapore Ltd, Renewable Energy Associati on of Myanmar, and Myanmar Engineering Society were the promoters of the event. The event was supported by Myanmar M inistry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development.
The workshop was designed with the following objectives:

  • Discussi ons on recent regulatory, policy and technical aspects of solar power development in India that can be taken forward as best practices.
  • To serve as the discussion platform for the collaboration between India and Myanmar on solar development in Myanmar.
  • Providing po
    licy inputs on comprehensive solar program development in Myanmar.
  • Identifying
    financing options available and way forward.
  • Sharing of p
    roject development experience of India.

The event was a success and received participation from leading solar developers, manufactures, Industry Associations and Government agencies from both countries.

India – Japan Green Energy Finance

26th February, 2015

The Indian Renewable Energy Federation (IREF) along with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan organised a seminar on “India – Japan Green Energy Finance” on 26th February, 2015 at Hall 14, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi at the Japan Pavilion (Hall 14) of the International Engineering & Technology Fair 2015 (IETF 2015). Mr. V. Subramanian of Indian Renewable Energy Federation, delivered the key note address.

Representatives from the Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC), Japan International Co-operation Agency(JI CA) and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) presented their views on JBIC finance for new and renewable projects, Japanese ODA Yen Loan, and New and Renewable Energy Support Project (Phase 2) (two-step loan sch eme). Representatives from renewable energy companies participated in the seminar. Some IREF members also atten ded the seminar and participated in the interactive session and one-to-one meeting.

Webinar on Opportunity of Renewable Energy in Indian market

3rd March, 2015

The Indian Renewable Energy Federation (IREF) along with the Spanish High Commission organised a webinar on 3rd March , 2015 on Opportunity of Renewable Energy in Indian market. Mr. V. Subramanian, chairman, IREF, gave a presentation on “Wind Sector – Present Status & Prospects” and also discussed the renewable energy scen ario in India. He urged Spanish companies to explore cost-effective solutions in energy storage along with Indian compan ies and bring to market new technologies for accurate forecasting and scheduling of renewable power in India.
